    App Features – Veraia Life

Important: Veraia is a digital health organisation and information tool. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or clinical decision support system. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend treatments, or replace the advice of a qualified healthcare professional. In any emergency, always contact your local emergency services or attend your nearest A&E.

    Profiles & Setup

Create profiles for yourself, your family, or someone in your care

Set up individual health profiles for multiple people within a single Veraia account — yourself, a child, an elderly parent, or anyone you are caring for at home.

    How it works

Each profile is a separate, self-contained health record. You can switch between profiles within the app at any time. Profiles are kept private and are not shared with other users unless you explicitly choose to share access.

    Who this is for

    • Individuals managing their own health information
    • Parents tracking health records for children
    • At-home carers managing health data for an elderly or bed-ridden family member
    • Anyone responsible for another person's medical appointments, prescriptions, or ongoing conditions

Each profile stores its own symptoms, documents, conditions, medications, and AI observations independently.

Log allergies, pre-existing conditions, and baseline health data

Record known allergies, diagnosed conditions, and any baseline health information that should be visible across the entire profile — so it is always available when it matters.

    What you can log

    • Allergies — food, medication, environmental, or contact allergies
    • Pre-existing and chronic conditions — diabetes, hypertension, asthma, autoimmune conditions, and others
    • Relevant surgical or medical history
    • Any other baseline information your healthcare providers regularly need to know

    Why this matters

This information forms the foundation of your Veraia profile. It is referenced automatically when the app checks new prescriptions for interactions, and it is available at a glance in Emergency Mode.

    Daily Health Logging

    Daily symptom and wellness log

Record how you or the person in your care is feeling each day — including symptoms, general mood, and any notable changes — building a timestamped health diary over time.

    What you can log daily

    • Symptoms — type, severity, location, and duration
    • Days of feeling unwell, including start and end dates
    • General mood and energy levels
    • Blood pressure readings
    • Blood sugar (glucose) levels
    • Body temperature and fever tracking

    How the log is used

Each entry is timestamped and stored chronologically. Over time, this creates a structured health diary that the AI layer can reference when generating observations. It also gives you an accurate account of how symptoms have evolved — useful to share with a GP or specialist at appointments.

Veraia does not interpret daily log entries as diagnostic data. The log is an organisational tool to help you remember and communicate your health history accurately.

    Period and menstrual cycle tracking

Log menstrual cycle dates, duration, and any associated symptoms alongside the rest of your health data — keeping everything in one place rather than a separate app.

    What you can track

    • Cycle start and end dates
    • Flow intensity and duration
    • Associated symptoms — cramps, headaches, mood changes, fatigue
    • Cycle irregularities over time

    Why it belongs in Veraia

Menstrual health is part of your overall health picture. Having cycle data alongside your symptoms, medications, and conditions means your complete health timeline is in one place — and any patterns that span across health areas can be surfaced by the AI observation layer when you prompt it.

At-home carer daily log — for bed-ridden patients

A dedicated daily logging mode for carers managing a bed-ridden patient at home, covering clinical observations like blood pressure, blood sugar, fever, and general condition.

    What carers can log daily

    • Blood pressure — systolic and diastolic readings with timestamps
    • Blood glucose levels
    • Body temperature and fever episodes
    • General mood and responsiveness observations
    • Any notable changes in condition, behaviour, or comfort level

Built for the reality of home care

Carers looking after a family member at home are often recording vital signs multiple times a day with no structured system to store them. Veraia gives you a simple, consistent daily log so that when a district nurse, GP, or hospital doctor asks "how has she been this week?" — you have a precise, timestamped answer.

This feature does not replace the clinical assessment of a registered nurse or doctor. It is a record-keeping tool to support carers and improve the quality of information shared with healthcare professionals.

    Document Management

Scan or manually enter health documents

Use your phone camera to scan prescriptions, GP letters, specialist referrals, test results, hospital discharge summaries, and vaccine records — or enter the information manually. Everything is stored in your profile, organised by type and date.

    Document types you can add

    • Prescriptions and medication lists
    • GP letters and referral letters
    • Blood test and lab results
    • Imaging reports — X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound
    • Hospital discharge summaries
    • Vaccination and immunisation records
    • Specialist consultation notes
    • Any other health-related document

    How to add documents

Camera scan: photograph the document directly in the app. Manual entry: type or paste key information if you don't have a physical document. Both methods are stored with the same structure — document type, date, and relevant detail — so they appear correctly in your health timeline.

Wound and skin condition photo log — for home carers

Carers managing a bed-ridden patient at home can photograph wounds, pressure sores, rashes, or skin changes directly in the app — creating a dated visual record to share with district nurses, GPs, or wound care specialists.

    What this feature does

You photograph the affected area within the app. Each photo is automatically timestamped and stored in the patient's profile under wound and skin monitoring. You can add a brief note to each image — location on the body, observed changes, any treatment applied.

Why this matters for home care

Pressure sores, post-surgical wounds, and skin conditions in bed-ridden patients change over time. A sequential photo log — taken at regular intervals — gives healthcare professionals a clear visual record of whether a wound is healing, stable, or deteriorating. This is significantly more useful than a verbal description alone.

    • Track pressure sores and bed wounds over days and weeks
    • Document rashes, skin reactions, or unexplained changes
    • Share the visual log directly with a district nurse or GP at the next visit
    • Provide remote visibility to healthcare professionals conducting telephone or video consultations

Veraia does not analyse, assess, or interpret wound photographs. The photo log is a record-keeping tool. Clinical assessment must always be carried out by a qualified healthcare professional.

    Medication Safety

Prescription cross-check — known interaction screening

Each time you scan or add a new prescription, Veraia cross-checks it against your logged allergies, existing conditions, and current medications to flag any known interactions or contraindications for your awareness.

    How the cross-check works

When a new prescription is added to your profile, the app automatically reviews it against three data points already stored in your profile:

    • Allergies — checks whether the new medication contains a substance you have a recorded allergy to
    • Current medications — screens for known drug-to-drug interactions between the new prescription and medications already in your profile
    • Pre-existing conditions — flags where a medication is known to be contraindicated for a condition you have logged

What happens if a potential interaction is found

Veraia surfaces this as an observation — a clear, plain-language flag that a potential interaction exists based on your recorded data. It does not tell you to stop taking the medication or make any clinical recommendation. The purpose is to ensure you are aware of the potential issue so you can raise it with your prescribing doctor or pharmacist before starting the medication.

This feature is based on known interaction data and your logged health information. It is not a substitute for pharmacist review or medical advice. Always consult your GP or pharmacist before making any changes to your medications.

Emergency Mode — instant access to critical health information

One tap displays a clear, structured summary of the most critical health information for a person — medications, allergies, conditions, and emergency contacts — ready to show a paramedic, A&E nurse, or GP immediately.

    What Emergency Mode displays

    • Current medications and dosages
    • Known allergies — including medication allergies
    • Diagnosed conditions and relevant medical history
    • Emergency contacts
    • Any critical notes added by the user or carer

Designed for the moments when thinking clearly is hardest

Emergency Mode requires a single tap to activate. It is designed to be handed to a healthcare professional — clearly laid out, no navigation required, no login needed once the mode is open. It works for your own profile or for any profile you manage as a carer.

Emergency Mode presents information as recorded by the user. It is the user's responsibility to keep this information accurate and up to date.

    AI Observations

AI health observations — pattern detection over time

As your health data builds up in Veraia, the AI layer can identify patterns across your entries — symptoms, test results, medications, and daily logs — and surface these as plain-language observations when you ask it to review your data.

    How AI observations work

The AI layer does not run continuously in the background. Observations are generated when you prompt the app to review your data — for example, reviewing a specific section like blood pressure logs, or asking for a general overview of patterns across your recent entries.

Examples of observations the AI might surface

    • "Your blood pressure readings have trended higher over the past three weeks compared to the previous month."
    • "You have logged headaches on 8 of the last 14 days. This is a change from your entries in the prior period."
    • "Your haemoglobin results across your last three blood tests have been below the standard reference range."
    • "You have reported fatigue on most days since starting this medication."

What observations are — and are not

Every AI output in Veraia is framed as an observation, not a conclusion. The app will never tell you what a pattern means, what is causing it, or what you should do about it. Observations are designed to help you notice things worth mentioning to your doctor — nothing more.

Veraia's AI layer is powered by Claude, developed by Anthropic. All AI analysis is performed on anonymised data. The AI does not diagnose conditions and its outputs should not be used as the basis for any clinical decision.

Health summary view — your full picture in one place

A consolidated summary view of all data in a profile — or a focused view for a specific category such as blood test results, blood pressure readings, or scanned documents — with AI observations displayed alongside the relevant data.

Two ways to view your data

Full profile summary: an overview of everything logged across all categories — conditions, medications, symptoms, documents, daily logs — in a single structured view. Useful to review before an appointment or share context with a new healthcare provider.

Section-specific view: focus on a single data type — for example, all blood pressure readings over the past 90 days, or all scanned documents in the prescriptions section — with any AI observations for that category shown alongside.

    Designed for appointments

The summary view is built to be useful in a consultation room. Rather than scrolling through entries, you can open a clear, structured overview of what is relevant — and hand your phone to your doctor with the information they need already organised.
